I BUILT MY CAREER INSIDE THE WORK
I’m Megan Tribble, founder of The Content Collaborative and a fractional marketing leader for B2B companies.
I didn’t get here by staying inside one job description. I kept gaining skills, stepping into the problems around me, and taking ownership of more.
That changed what I was trusted to lead.
HOW I GOT HERE
I DIDN’T WAIT FOR SOMEONE tO HAND ME MORE RESPONSIBILITY
I started writing copy, but was never interested in just finishing the brief.
I wanted to understand the why, the who, and what happened afterwards.
I cared about supporting the team, improving conversions, and making the brand feel more connected.
So I learned the next thing. That pulled me into strategy, positioning, campaigns, websites, marketing materials, sales support, launches, teams, vendors, and eventually the decisions sitting behind all of it.
Learning the work myself made me better at leading it. I know what good execution requires, where things tend to break down, and what people need to move the work forward.
THE CONTENT COLLABORATIVE
different than an agengy
The goal was never headcount.
I wanted a business that would let me stay close enough to understand what Sales is hearing, what leadership is trying to accomplish, what the brand is communicating, and what the team can realistically execute.
So I keep my client roster intentionally small and bring in additional support when the work calls for it.
I don’t want layers between me and the business. I want enough context to make better decisions and stay involved enough to see them through.
YOU DON’T NEED ANOTHER MARKETING VENDOR
If the business has outgrown the way marketing is being managed,
I step in and help lead what comes next.
